dia de muertos 2026

Día de Muertos. One of the most beautiful Mexican forms of celebrating the temporary return of those who have passed on.

This ancient tradition has remained alive for hundreds of years, and has evolved as history and culture has unfolded. There is no single way to celebrate it, but there are ways that are closer to our hearts.

Together with de Uitvaartmaker and Apapacho, we are opening our doors to our real home in Rotterdam West for a small and intimate gathering inspired by how we experience Día de Muertos ourselves: closely together, around the table, sharing stories, food and conversation.

This will be a great opportunity to learn about the celebration, ask questions, and participate in some of its traditions.

In two hours (pick your timeslot!), you will:

  • Experience Dia de Muertos. Learn its story, nuances and place in Mexican culture.
  • Celebrate your loved ones through some of the traditions that take place on this date
  • Build an altar and learn about its elements
  • Join us for homemade food and hot chocolate (from Apapacho)

Date: Sunday 1, November.
Location: At Maria & Pepe’s private home. Address will be sent to you via the confirmation email to you upon ticket purchase. Make sure to check your spam folder!
Time: Available timeslots 12:00-14:00 / 15:00-17:00 / 18:00-20:00
